Acmena Fire Screen (PBR)

Acmena ‘Fire Screen’

Acmena smithii ‘BWNFIR’ PBR Logo

This lilly pilly ticks all the boxes when it comes to selecting an excellent screening variety. Compact, fast-growing and a very dense growth habit all the way to the ground. This one won’t disappoint! It features glossy mid-green foliage with copper-red new growth fading to bronze. White fluffy flowers will proliferate through spring attracting bees and butterflies, followed by a small amount of purple berries. Acmena Fire Screen is psyllid-free, rarely troubled by pests or disease, and responds very well to pruning. Naturally it will grow to 4 metres high and 1.5 metres wide, but it can be trimmed (hard if needed) to required size and shape. Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but preferring a moist well-drained soil in a sunny to semi shade position. Once established it is tolerant of dry conditions, and reasonably frost tolerant. A great windbreak and hedge, as well as a topiary choice for the landscape or container.
